I apologize in advance for the large absence in updates, it has been an insane move!
The first few days of it were pretty intense, as we simultaneously moved during storms, 95 degree weather, across cities (and eventually a 24 hour drive through different states). All in all it was a blast though, and while we miss Jacksonville at times, Columbus is more than making up for it.
It took 2 days of re-organizing and re-packing, 3 hours to unload the storage unit and reload the Uhaul, and several trips to the dumpster to trek all of our things up North.
Unfortunately we had to leave Florida sans one cat, Darla. Tuesday and Dash spent the whole trip knocked up on Dramamine, yowling and panting annoyingly right behind my head. They were troupers though, and loved finally being home.
The drive itself wasn't too terrible. My dad clearly enjoyed the scenery =]
We drove non-stop, only stopping once at a little hotel in SC that was just horrendous. Roaches, hot rooms, smelly walls, and a bloody washcloth underneath the mattresses... It was the funnier, not so fun aspects of the trip.
And now, for some random pictures of the drive up:
Wildflowers literally spring up from everywhere. I love it!
Apparently we drove by a landmark on our way in! The annual state classic car festival!
Downtown Columbus isn't as big or as pretty as Jacksonville, but it's definitely a little more interesting!
A priceless little 50's theater right across the street from my school.
I'll update more later, but for now I need to sleep!
Updates to come:
-Details on my new apartment and NEW CAR!!
-Day to day life
-Pictures of various roadtrips
