Settling down in Columbus has proven to be a very time consuming event. I honestly feel like I have been in and out of my apartment so many times a day since we've arrived that I'm going to forget where it is that I live! Anyway, I apologize for my absence.
Since September we've been visiting various places around Ohio that I plan to blog about as soon as I get just a liiittle bit more time. For now I leave you with a short list of places to see that I've critiqued. Enjoy!
First is of course my suggestion to visit Short North.
There really isn't anything about Short North that I don't love. Graffiti, tons of kooky stores and buildings, art galleries galore, plenty of sweet and courteous people.. You just can't go wrong. Really. You can't. My suggestion would be to take a day to yourself and go wandering along the streets. If you need further suggestion on where to stop in at, here's just a few that I recommend:
Milk Bar (a personal favorite)
And next we have Dirty Frank's!
Between the bevy of different dogs, the attractive waiters, and their super cute setting (with a nice collection of paintings and porcelain canines), this place gets a definite "A" in my book. It's a great place to meet up with friends and share a funnel cake, slushie, tatter tots, and a classy lady or two, but don't have high hopes for the drinks. Just prepare to grease up and chug down an RC Cola of your choice instead ;]
Then there is Skully's Bar and Grill

The venue aspect of this place makes it a fast favorite of mine, as the floor space is huge and the music taste is definitely likable. I have yet to try any of their food (their grill closes earlier than the event nights start), but all of their drinks suspiciously taste like they have coconut in them. They are decently priced, and hold the title of the best ladies night in Cbus (though I wasn't super impressed by their ladies 80's personally), so if you're bored on a Thursday night this might be the place for you.
Hey gorgeous! If you have the time (And judging from your tweets, that's very rare), I may ask you to do a guestpost on my own blog sometime in November about your town in Ohio. I'm wanting to do a series where bloggers from cities NOT represented on Apartment Therapy get a change to talk about how special their home is!
